From scruffy to fluffy in four steps
Bath day is the whole game. Here is how a rescue goes, start to finish.
Wash to reveal
Fill a bowl with warm water and a little mild soap. Rub the matted fur until it softens and rinse until the water runs clear.
Dry and care
Squeeze the fur in a towel, then dry it gently. A grown-up can help with a hair dryer on a low, cool setting.
Style and luv
Brush with the comb until the coat stands up fluffy, then add the collar and any clips that came in the carrier.

5 stars for the experience alone. My daughter loved it and now her sister wants one too. She has had it a couple weeks now and still carries it everywhere with her so I say its a win for sure! I do wish it was a little softer fur but the stuffy is good quality. đź‘Ť we did not sit there and blow dry it because that would have taken forever but we put it in the dryer and they loved watching her dry through the dryer door!
Fun surprise factor, great reaction from my daughter
The mystery/reveal aspect made this way more exciting than a regular plush — she loved not knowing which pet she’d get until it “grew” out of the packaging. Plush quality is soft and well-made, not flimsy like some surprise toy lines can be. Good size for a kid to actually play with and carry around, not just display. The whole unboxing experience kept her entertained way longer than a standard toy would, and she’s continued playing with it well after the initial surprise wore off, which isn’t always the case with novelty toys. Great option for a birthday or just a fun surprise gift — the reveal moment alone made it worth it.
Fun
It was a little smaller than expected, but she absolutely loved it. It was nicely made, and my great granddaughter plays with it a lot. A nice toy for four year-old.
Cute gift
My niece loved it. I washed it with some dish soap. Put in the dryer until it was mostly dry and used the brush included to fluff it up. I’ll let it finish air drying and doing one more brush through. Overall, a cute present.
I don’t get it but…
My younger daughter loves these things! I don’t understand it but it makes her happy. They’re just a stuffed animal that was made to look unrecognizable (the animal type) and you have to “love it” bathe it wash it brush it to make it recognizable and know what you got. Cute idea I guess lol but as long as she’s happy that’s all that matters. She’s 9 and has loved these for years.

What is a ScruffaLuvs pet?
A ScruffaLuvs pet is a plush animal that we send out as a matted, scruffy ball of fur. Washing it rinses the scruff away and reveals which pet it is. After drying and brushing it becomes a soft, fluffy plush to keep.
Do you know which pet you will get?
Not exactly. The carrier shows the family, such as Pet Scruffs, Unicorn Scruffs or a Mom & Baby set, and sometimes the fur colour. Which animal is inside, or how many babies, stays a surprise until the wash.
How long does a ScruffaLuvs take to dry?
Thick fur holds a lot of water, so plan for drying time. Squeeze it well in a towel, use a hair dryer on a low setting with an adult, and let it air dry fully before bedtime cuddles.
Can you do the reveal more than once?
The reveal is a one-time moment, because the scruffy coating washes out for good. The grooming, styling and pretend pet care carry on for as long as the comb survives.
ScruffaLuvs rescue pet plush toys, explained
ScruffaLuvs are wash-to-reveal plush pets. Each one leaves us as a tangled ball of fur packed inside a pet carrier, and the child who rescues it does the rest: a bath in warm soapy water, a towel, some warm air and a good brushing.
